The theme she chose was "How to Train a Dragon". I thought it would be fairly easy to find the decorations but it wasn't. We had to rush order the supplies (because we procrastinated for way to long...lesson learned for the next one). But we got party favors, balloons, table cover, etc. all with dragon themes on them. I didn't do a cake but we ordered little cupcake toppers with the characters from the movie. While the kids arrived we had the movie playing on the TV. Then we started the games.
We had the kids go on a treasure hunt for dragon eggs (each kid had a certain amount of eggs with their names on them filled with goodies). Heard later from moms the kids really loved going on the treasure hunt. Made paper dragon puppets with moving parts (took tons longer than we had originally thought it would...even the night before Jon and I stayed up late to get all the things cut out and put into little baggies). Then we also had some clay that they could mold their own dragons or characters out of but we ran out of time so we didn't do that. We only scheduled the party for 1 1/2 hrs so by the time the first two activities were done we did presents and cupcakes. Then it was pretty much time to leave.
She seemed to really enjoy herself and had a blast. She and Kylee were so excited to help set things up and they even made some of their own decorations to hang up around the house, banners included.
Dragon puppet craft and clay activity.
Not looking to excited but she really was...waiting for the party to start.
