Forts

July 27, 2013

Kylee created a fort out of blankets in our front room this afternoon. This evening she asked if she could sleep in it.  Brittany of course wanted to do the same.  So we created one for her as well.  We decided to let them sleep there for the night.  I kind of wondered if they would both make it or end up in their beds. But they both fell asleep fairly quickly (after the normal girl giggling you have during sleep overs).  They actually made it and slept all night long.  They want to do it again so we said they can another weekend.  Since we have Stride for Brittany this upcoming week we need them to sleep in their rooms.

You should see our front room.  But they had fun!

Despicable Me 2

July 27, 2013

We took the girls to see Despicable Me 2 today.  It was actually quite fun. I could hear Brittany laughing quite loudly a few times so she thought it was funny.  I could hear Kylee as well but just not as loudly.  Jon said that is one he would like to pick up when it comes out.

Swimming day

July 26, 2013

I told the kids that we could go swimming today. So while Brittany was in her swimming lesson I bought two passes for Kylee and I and we swam until Brittany was done.  Then her teacher went and got her a pass so she could join us.  Had an enjoyable time, we were only there for about 2 hours but that was long enough for that day.  Again Brittany was extremely tired by the end so she was ready to leave.

Fence Done

Yeah!  The fence is now all put in.  They cam on July 25th to begin it, but didn't quite finish so they came back the next day and completed all our fence.  Now we won't have anymore stray animals or children walking thru our yard as a short cut.  We can also go out in the back and not feel like we are starring at everyone or being starred at.

Brittany's nap time again

July 24, 2013

Brittany was really tired today after her swimming lessons.  So after lunch and shower she went out to the front room to work on the puzzle.  But we found her taking a nap later on with the puzzle lid on her face.  I think she was like that for about an hour.  So I worked on a batch of apricot jam and more drying of apricots.  I was going to try to go to Heather and Kents today to help with the sod but with her taking a nap she didn't get up till about 2:00. Later I found out they had finished by 1:30 anyway so I wouldn't have been able to help.

Jon had to work today but was able to come home early enough (about 5:00) to barbecue hamburgers and hotdogs.  Tasted really yummy, maybe because I was so hungry. Later that night we went out to do sparklers and fireworks.  Our neighbor invited us over but Brittany ended up wanted to stay in the house to work on her puzzle so we just watched them from our house while we did ours.  We had a better view from our house anyway of their big ones because we didn't have to look directly up above us to see them.

Cement time for mow strip

July 20, 2013

Yeah!  The day has finally arrived for the cement for our mow strip between the fence posts.  We finally found a guy a couple weeks ago that has been working at digging out the dirt and placing the boards for the cement.  He got delayed by about a week due to rain.  But we are just glad we were able to find someone and that he actually showed up to do the project. It happens to be a guy that lives in the neighborhood.  The pump couldn't quite reach the front side of my neighbors house or the end of our property (even with the larger pump) so they had to do some by wheel barrel.

Testing to see how far it will reach before the cement truck get here.

Cement truck has arrived and it is now time to begin!

Brittany's Swimming Lessons

July 19, 2013

We started Brittany's swimming lessons now. She gets private lessons so they can go at her pace.  Her teacher said she is improving even more this year.  We opted for the same teacher since she has already worked with Brittany and Brittany likes her.  Brittany says her favorite thing in swimming is the back stroke or float.  She seems to enjoy the water.  Which I am glad knowing how much she hated water in her face (still now) but more so when she was younger.

Uintah Road Trip

July 13, 2013
This morning after/during breakfast we decided we needed to go for some road trips.  So we have a few places we would like to go.  Hopefully we can plan some of these in the next several years.  But for today we decided to drive up to the Uintahs.  We also drove to Yellow Pine to check out the campground for a possible trip we are planning later.

We got all packed and dressed within an hour.  Which was REALLY good for us.  I think we left around 11:30 or so.  We didn't get home until about 11:00 so we were gone for a long time.

The day turned out enjoyable.  Not really too many complaints from the back seat.  So it was pleasant.

I just liked the view from where I was sitting

doesn't like to hold hands, but is starting
to do that more every so often.

There was a snake crawling between a couple rocks.
It was a black snake so you can barely see it.
It is near the big rock to the right.

4th of July

Went of to my parents for a 4th of July celebration barbecue.  Had a nice time with some dutch oven and homemade icecream.  We visited while the kids played on the slip and slide, pool, and hot tub. Relaxing day.

After everyone left (since we were going to Shelley and James house tonight) I let the kids play outside in the hot tub for a little while longer then they went in for baths and a movie (Wreck it Ralph) for cool down and relaxation time.

We went over to Shelley and James house tonight to do fireworks.  They weren't there because they had ticket to Stadium of Fire.  But mom and dad were watching their kids so we did the fireworks there.  We ate pizza and then started the fun. The kids started with snaps, then went to sparklers, then the fireworks.  There were the normal fountains but then the aerials started.  Both Brittany and Kylee got a little nervous about being so close so we finally talked them into going back up to the house to watch at a safer distance.
