Brittany turns 12

January 9, 2016

Today is Brittany's 12th birthday.  She is sure growing up.  She wasn't to excited about our activities for the day since it required housework, but it needed done.

We had french toast for breakfast.  Went to Olive Garden for an early dinner (she really likes this place), since it was her birthday she received a free dessert, she picked cheesecake (a girl after my own heart, although I have to share the good stuff now).  Instead of having a friend over this year she wanted to go to Chuck-E-Cheese to play in the arcade.  So we headed over there.  For her birthday dessert from us she chose salted caramel brownies and fudge track icecream (has recess buttercup pieces in it).  For her present she got more legos.  This was just a box of about 580 miscellaneous pieces to build with.

What's your favorite color?  Purple
What's your favorite food?  Pizza
What's your least favorite food?  Beef stroganoff
What is your favorite breakfast food?  Omlet

What was the funnest thing about being 11?  I don't know

What do you really like about yourself right now?  That I am smart

She is very excited about going into Young Women this year and I am a little nervous.  But I am glad she is so excited.  Sunday is her last day in Primary Sharing Time and the Young Women come in and kidnap her out to take her with them.  The primary will sing her favorite song "Book of Mormon Stories" and give her a huge rice krispy treat shaped like a heart.  The Young Women usually put a tiara on their head or a feather boa around them so they asked her if she wanted that but she told them no.

She is going to be called up front in Sacrament Meeting for her advancement into Young Women.

Hardware Ranch

December 28, 2015

We went to Hardware Ranch today with Roger and Laura Marshall and their family.  We met around 9:00 and headed up.  We made a stop at a place called Casper, which is where they make the Fat Boy icecream bars.  We didn't buy any, but Roger and Laura bought quite a few of their misfit ones.  Good deal too, we may go back someday and get some.  We also stopped at the cheese factory to get some curds, yummy!!  The day was nice, however cold.  We had quite a long wait in the line to get onto the sleighs but had fun once we were on them.  We were fortunate enough to have actual sleighs this year, the guy said it is usually wagons being pulled around but with all the snow we got the sleigh.

The ride home was very long (always is).  We hit icy roads and saw many accidents and slide offs just north of Ogden.  Very glad when we were passed all the yucky roads and were home.  We took a dinner break after parting ways with Roger and Laura.

Roger taking the reins while our driver gets out to help fix the other sleighs horses.
