Tree Hunting

November 9, 2013

We went on our annual Christmas Tree hunt.  We met everyone at a restaurant in Nephi, bright and early and then after breakfast headed down to the Fish Lake area.

We had a harder time finding a tree this year.  But the kids had fun playing around in the snow.

Wandering around looking for a tree.

Just chilling.

Zoe playing peek-a-boo.

Brittany found her little tree, standing next to her snowman.

I actually did get one of Jon standing next to the tree we picked out.  However, when I was looking through them it was someone over exposed or something.  Because all that was in the picture was a big huge white screen.  Oh well, here he is cutting it down.

Another long but fun day of tree hunting.

Snow

November 3, 2013

Today we had our first snowstorm. Kylee was so excited. Since we didn't have church till 2:30 she wanted to run outside in it for a little while.  Silly girl.

Fort and Obsidian

November 2, 2013

Today we decided to take a drive down south to look for obsidian.  The girls have been wanting to go rock hunting so this was our trip for today.  We want to look for geodes at a later date.

On our way down we passed a fort that we stopped at.  Pretty interesting to walk around the old walls.  We also see how large the fort used to be.

Looking for obsidian

We had an enjoyable day walking around the area looking for our obsidian.  We were able to find a few  different types.  Red, Black, and Snowflake.

We each brought some  home.  Probably tons more than necessary, but it was fun to see what we had collected.

Mmmmm Dinner

Thought it would be fun this year to do a little Halloween dinner.  So this is what we came up with. Orange Peppers with faces cut out and spaghetti coming out of their heads (brains).  Kids loved it.
