Till We Meet Again
Today was my Grandpa Chamber's funeral. There is a viewing in their church from 9-10:30 followed by the funeral program, then to the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
Years ago my grandpa asked my cousin Kara Jensen (Paxton's wife) to sing two songs at his funeral. As she announced a little background to the two pieces she mentioned that the songs were both sung at my grandparents wedding. She said she also felt impressed to tell my grandma that she feels my grandpa wants her to know these two songs have been dedicated to her today.
Song 1: I Love You Truly
Song 2: Because
At the grave site there was a guy playing a Bagpipe. I assume in honor of our Scottish heritage. Both my grandpa and my mom love the bagpipes. There also was a military gun salute and taps. Then the flag was folded and handed to my grandma. One of the military personnel also presented 3 of the bullet casings to her. The three casings represent the three volleys fired, and the three words duty, honor, country.
After the funeral I was talking to Jocelyn, ShaeMarie, and Aunt Kathy and found out that Jocelyn's car had a flat tire on the way. Fortunately her brother's and dad were able to take a look at it for her.

At the luncheon the ward was kind enough to provide some delicious food. During the luncheon my cousin Jason got up and shared a couple stories. One of the stores was while he was on his mission. He told about coming across a women who had lost her husband and was sad at this time. She was a member of the church but had become inactive over the years. Her daughter had thought that she could receive some comfort from the missionaries. As they were talking the women said she knew a Chambers years ago in North Ogden named Bill and Marilyn. Well Jason kind of figured there weren't too many with that description in the North Ogden area so he said they were his grandparents. They had a nice visit and during this visit the women gave Jason a Book of Mormon from the 1950's with my grandpa's testimony in it. Jason has had it all these years. Apparently also the husbands name was Paul, which apparently is who my Uncle is named after.
Another story he told was that Jason had a job opportunity in Texas but he really didn't know if he wanted to go there. He had mentioned this to my grandpa. My grandpa said he has prayed about it and feels he should go to Texas for this job. He decided to proceed with this job. He is very happy that he followed my grandpas council because that is where Jason ended up meeting his wife.
My cousin Amy asked all the Chambers cousins to all go outside for a moment. She had us all gather for a picture that she will give to my grandma at Christmas. She had all the Chambers kids go out as well for a picture.
Most of the cousins were in attendance.
