Heber Girsl Camp Day 1 - Visiting Parents
June 15, 2019
At Challenge Course #3. This is the one my parents are at this year. They are Team Leaders. It is fun going down the zipline. If I could just jump off each time and go down that would be great. This year everyone that tried made it to the top. Just Zoey, Brittany, and Jon didn't try.
Canoeing around in the lake.
Back and Reeder Campground getting a fire started
Jon and Kylee left around 10:00 to head back home. Tomorrow there is a special stake conference that Jon and Kylee wanted to go to. President Ballard is coming. Brittany and I stayed. Jon and Kylee will come back tomorrow and pick us up.
This evening we sat around the campfire and chatted and told stories. We also brought up things that we remembered from our childhoods.
After my parents left and everyone but Shelley, Heather, and myself went to bed, we stayed up talking till about 1:00. Then I started hearing noises. It reminded me of a bear that makes snorting sounds. I didn't say anything for a while but about 1:00 I asked them to be quiet so I could listen. I told them I heard a sound and Shelley said like a bear. I said yes. We quickly got up, Heather put the fire out. Then we got our stuff and got ready for bed and headed to our cabins for the night.
I tried to be quiet in our cabin because it looked like Brittany was asleep. But after a while she woke up and asked me if I could get her pills. Then she said she had to go to the restroom. Of course since the rest of us hurried since it sounded like something was out there. So I told her to go straight there and back. Of course I watched for her the entire time.
All night long I heard what sounded like a door slamming shut. It was driving me nuts. I found out the next morning that both Kent and Shelley heard it as well. None of us knew what it was. Didn't sleep well, but that is pretty normal for being somewhere different.
