Kylee's Room
We have been needing new beds for the kids for years. But haven't been able to until finally now. Kylee's box spring even broke last year, you can see where it is totally sagging in the middle. We went Saturday (March 8th) and finally bit the bullet. They were delivered today (March 11th). Kylee was so excited to sleep in her new bed tonight. However last night and this morning she was sad that we were giving away her old bed. She wanted to save it down in the basement (I don't think so).
On Saturday when we were looking at the beds, she had fun going from bed to bed trying them out. We narrowed them down to our price range and gave her a choice.

This is her choice. It is actually taller than our bed. She says it is so soft. She is funny. She wanted to read her stories inside her covers laying on top. She laid on her bed during her tablet time this afternoon. After making the bed and seeing how high off the ground it is, I am going to have to have some sort of bed skirt for it because the bedspread no longer touches the ground.
We turned up the heat today to hopefully heat up the mattresses so they wouldn't be to cold during bedtime, since we think they were in the truck overnight.

Brittany's Room
Brittany was excited to sleep in her new bed tonight as well. She didn't seem to attached to her old bed. I have been a little worried about her reaction to change. But all seems ok so far. She is in bed and doing well.
She also was excited to try out new beds on Saturday. She fell in love with the one she decided upon. It is one of the foam type beds so it will contour to her shape. The guy at the store even told us that it is a really good bed for kids, especially if they have autism. He said one of his kids has that and it helps him get into his REM sleep faster. Don't know if he noticed Brittany and made the connection, or if he was just telling us how it is supposed to be more comfortable. Either way, Brittany loved it.

This is her new bed, however it hasn't inflated totally yet. It was all rolled up inside vacuum plastic so it was pretty flat. It is supposed to go up to 7" deep. We do need to get a Bunkie board (the delivery guy told us) so the springs under the mattress don't mold into the foam. So we will have to get that soon. I laid on her bed and it is actually quite comfortable. I hope it works well for her. She did make the comment that she is unable to bounce anymore on the bed.
